Ayush Workshop In Kerala On IT Solutions 2025

Kerala is hosting a National Workshop on IT Solutions in the Ayush sector. The workshop will take place over a period of two days on 18th and 19th September 2025 in Kottayam, Kerala. The National Ayush Mission, Kerala, is organizing the workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to demonstrate how IT solutions are transforming Ayush services for better digital efficiency and citizen usability. This workshop is important for bringing together the groups of experts, government representatives, and health leaders to discuss technology in the Ayush sector.

Background

This workshop is being held after the Departmental Summit 2025 in New Delhi, where digital systems in the Ayush sector were identified as a national priority. At that summit, the need for a strong digital framework was discussed. The Kerala workshop will now continue that work. The main aim is to build one system for Ayush digital services that is the same across all states in India. The focus will be on creating interoperable IT solutions. Interoperable systems mean that digital systems in different states, regions, and institutions can communicate with each other. This will allow smoother work, reduce confusion, and give better services to citizens.

Inaugural Session

The opening session of the workshop will include many important leaders. Dr. Sajith Babu, Mission Director of National Ayush Mission Kerala, will give the welcome speech. The workshop will be officially inaugurated by Veena George, Minister for Health and Women & Child Development, Kerala. The presidential address will be delivered by Rajan Khobragade, Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Kerala. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, will give the keynote address. A special address will be given by Kavita Jain, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush. This lineup shows that the event is important at both the state and national levels, and it will help give the right direction to the discussions.

Participants

The workshop will include participants from different areas. Senior officials from the Ministry of Ayush will take part. Ministers and administrators from different states and Union Territories will also join. Mission Directors who lead Ayush programmes in their states will attend. IT experts from central and state divisions will share their knowledge. Specialists in digital health and e-governance will also join. With such a wide group of participants, the workshop will create opportunities to learn from each other and to share useful experiences.

Key Focus Areas

The discussions during the workshop will focus on important areas. One main area is sharing best practices from different states and Union Territories. Another area is showcasing IT solutions and innovations that are already improving Ayush services. Programme management will also be discussed, especially how IT solutions can make administration easier and faster. Patient care systems will be looked at to make sure citizens get quality services that are easy to access. Monitoring and reporting frameworks will be studied to make work more accountable and transparent. Human resource management will be discussed to build a strong workforce. Data management strategies will be shared to improve accuracy and transparency in records. Financial tracking will be discussed so that the use of resources is clear and properly managed. All these focus areas show how IT solutions and Business IT solutions can improve the Ayush sector.

Expected Outcomes

The workshop aims to bring clear and useful results. One expected outcome is the creation of a national platform for knowledge-sharing in IT-enabled Ayush services. This platform will help states and institutions learn from each other. Another expected outcome is the creation of a standard framework for digital adoption. This framework will help ensure that IT solutions are used in the same way across all states and programmes. The workshop is also expected to draft recommendations to align Ayush systems with the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) and other digital health projects. This will make sure that Ayush digital systems are part of the larger digital health system in India.

Field Visit (September 20–21, 2025)

After the two-day workshop, there will be a two-day field visit from September 20 to 21, 2025. Delegates will visit facilities in Kottayam, Alappuzha, and Thrissur. They will see Ayushman Arogya Mandir (ISM & Homoeopathy) hospitals, which have NABH Entry Level Certification and Kayakalp Awards. They will visit the Sports Ayurveda Project, which connects wellness with sports. They will see the Arogyanouka project, which focuses on community health. Palliative care services, which support long-term patients, will also be shown. The Drishti project, which helps with vision-related health needs, will be visited. Delegates will also see the Ayurkarma project, which highlights classical therapies and treatments. These visits will give practical knowledge of how Ayush services work at the ground level.

Importance Of The Workshop

This workshop is very important for the future of the Ayush sector.

  • It will help create a digital ecosystem for Ayush that is strong and ready for the future.

  • The workshop will promote cooperation between different states so they can share knowledge and resources.

  • It will help in standardising IT solutions so that the same system works across all states.

  • It will also promote evidence-based digital frameworks, which means that IT solutions will be credible and reliable.

By achieving these, the Ayush sector will be modernized and also connected with India’s larger digital health infrastructure.

Role Of IT Solutions In This Change

The main subject of this workshop is the role of IT solutions in healthcare. IT solutions can improve programme management by providing real-time data. They can improve patient care by connecting citizens with Ayush services in simple ways. IT solutions can also make monitoring and reporting easier and more transparent. Business IT solutions are important for managing financial tracking, human resource management, and large-scale data operations. These solutions help in running big programmes smoothly. IT solutions also need to be scalable, secure, and interoperable. This means they should be able to grow with future needs, be safe for data storage, and work well with other systems. By using Business IT solutions, Ayush services can become more accessible, accountable, and ready for the future.
